Kalenga Masaidio, School Director
Masaido Kalenga was born in Goma, Congo in 1977. He moved to Uganda in 1998 and attended Kampala International University, where he studied Information Technology. After he graduated in 2006, he moved to Kamuli in eastern Uganda to learn how to use education to promote the well-being of the community. GACS was born through interaction with people in the community after realizing that children were being left at home while their parents worked.
Olive, Headmistress
"I was born in Uganda in 1979. I joined Gayaza primary school in 1986 and Namasagali secondary school in 1987. My father and mother are both teachers. I joined my parents in Swaziland where my dad was a lecturer at the university of Swaziland and my mother a teacher at a Baha'i school in Swaziland. I volunteered at the same school for a year before going to South Africa for my further studies at Midrand College where I studied Business Administration. Our family moved back to Uganda in 2005 and two years later I met my lovely husband, Kalenga. When he shared with me his dreams about his love for the education of children, I could not hesitate to give him a hand because I also love teaching children, a "gene" that I might have inherited from my parents".
Joan, Teacher
"Teaching children is a dream that I had right from my childhood. My dad is a teacher, so I think I developed the desire from him. I was so happy when Kalenga contacted me to teach at GACS. I had just completed my preschool course from the college when Kalenga called me to teach."
Nulu, Teacher
"I am a mother of so many children. I started teaching when I was young, although I did not get a certificate from any college. However, my experience with children is an asset that I have. I thank GACS for its continuous support to these children."
Alisat, Teacher
"I am a mother with 3 children and a teacher by profession. I have always loved children. GACS is not far from my home, so I do not need to walk long distances to go to my place of work."
